AFRICA OVERLAND VEHICLES & EQUIPMENT  All our Africa overland trucks are purpose built either in South Africa or in the United Kingdom. Each overland vehicle is custom-built for overlanding and equipped and maintained to manage Africa's extreme conditions. Mercedes Benz, M.A.N. and Scania trucks are the overland vehicles of choice.All the trucks we use on our Africa overland expeditions are fully self sufficient and contain all equipment needed for an overland tour. Although overland trucks differ from tour to tour, most trucks are equipped and carry the following essentials: all cooking and camping equipment, stereo cassette players, interior and exterior lighting, lockers, long range fuel tanks as well as 300 to 400 litre water tanks. Seating arrangements vary from vehicle to vehicle; some seats facing each other inwards, others facing forward and some backwards. A few vehicles are also equipped with inside tables. Windows also differ from vehicle to vehicle and are either slide across or PVC sides with windows that can be rolled up for game viewing and photography. All our overland trucks carry an extensive array of spare parts which, together with the crew's mechanical knowledge, should be sufficient enough to get the truck back on the road in the event of a breakdown. On our small group or shorter overland tours, 10-seater Mercedes and Toyota minibuses are often used and in East Africa and Mozambique, 4x4 safari vehicles such as Land Rovers or Toyota Land Cruisers are used.
