Kruger Park Camping Tours

A Kruger Park camping tour is a true South African holiday where you can be amazed by big five animals like elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, hippo, hyena, kudu, giraffe, zebra and so much more on 3 open vehicle game drives and a SANParks sunset drive to give you the opportunity to also see nocturnal animals.

Also on offer is a visit to the Lisbon Falls, Three Rondavels in the Blyde River Canyon and God's Window, providing some of the most magnificent scenery in the country!

Delicious breakfasts and 3 course dinners, served al fresco under the stars (weather permitting), gives you ample time to get to know your fellow travelers and exchange pictures. At night we share a bottle of wine around the camp fire and listen to the night sounds of the bush around us.

First day: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

We leave on our Kruger Park camping tour from Johannesburg in the early morning to allow for various collection points. The route to your Kruger Park safari takes us through the Highveld with its wide open spaces, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. En-route to the Kruger National Park and Skukuza Camp we stop for lunch (own expense).

You will go out on your first Game Drive (SANParks Sunset Drive) after settling in to your accommodation. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal African Wildlife. The Kruger Park's rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that this is not a private Game Drive and that other guests may be joining you on this drive.

Please note: Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.

A three course dinner is included and will be served al fresco at our private camp within Skukuza. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the Kruger Park shop.

Included Meals: Dinner

Days 2 to 6: Kruger National Park *

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your Game Drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

On one of your mornings you will be joining a SANParks Morning Walk with a experienced game ranger.

On returning to Skukuza brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Be sure to bring your binoculars, Skukuza Rest Camp is also a bird watcher's paradise!

After a siesta we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.

We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

Included Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Last day: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

The final day of your Kruger Park camping tour will be your last chance to see the Big Five Animals that have eluded you thus far. After breakfast we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

Included Meals: Breakfast

* Panorama Route (Optional Excursion)

We offer an optional excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route. This excursion is available free of charge, replaces one of the morning drives and will be co-ordinated by our staff while you are on safari with us.

We stop in one of the small towns en-route for breakfast (included) and visit attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God's Window. We return to Skukuza at around 11h00.

Kindly note that this excursion is not available on the first or last day of your tour due to time constrictions.
